The General Stuff:
Nicknames: Crom (shorthand), Crommie (affectionate), Edmund Allenby (gaysona), Jean-Baptiste Émile de Chopin (vesciere alias), Crawford (business), Crowther (business), Oscar Cromwell (business)
Prince of Void, Derse dreamer. Was written with the intent of escaping himself.
White (what kind? anyone's guess), and as of the 1980s, "born" April 11, 1954 (actual birthday February 3rd, 1990). Cis, bisexual. 5'10. Midpoint between Damien's stocky build and Cain's whole twink vibe, average build. Brown curly hair, always impeccably dressed. The god of cunt. Very deep, almost black-looking blue eyes. Distinctive cheekbone scar. Can't grow facial hair aside from the muttonchops.
Chronologically very old (~10000 or older). Physically locked at 21. Eternal trust fund baby (his ancestors are just himself).
Undiagnosed ASPD, though he's mellowed out considerably over time. Severe issues with vulnerability. Smoker, habitual drinker. Still struggles with empathy. Victim of the Stanford Pines paradox, knows he's inherently superior but deeply hates himself. Supplements that self-hatred with narcissism, but is a lot more humble about it than Cain is. Runner, has a habit of disappearing and showing up again under a new alias if something big happens, ESPECIALLY if it was his own fault.
Put very shortly, an antisocial, hostile asshole. Known for his highly introverted tendencies, being a hard negotiator, and just generally being a dick. Pretty enigmatic otherwise.
Some Interesting Facts:
Abilities revolve around the void, unsurprisingly. His primary offensive power is being able to fire off blasts of pure black magic, and augmenting objects or himself with it to maximize destruction. Because of how long he's been around, the precision he has with it is close to the latent control Kara or Damien had when they'd first ascended, being able to fine-tune it into thin compressed blasts the width of a bullet but with far greater force.
The other main one is more of his trademark: disappearing into shadows. Where there exists an absence of light, all he has to do is stand on it. It looks like he'd stepped in a puddle and dropped straight down as if it was impossibly deep. It's a unique form of fast travel that offers some stealth benefits, moving from shadow to shadow undetected.
Runs or has run a variety of different businesses, from gunrunning in the 1880s, to a toy business, to smuggling in the 1980s, he's owned or currently owns a very diverse number of companies in his many, MANY years of capitalism-ing. He has definitely gotten into altercations with the law over his various dubiously-legal to outright illegal little "projects."
Relationships:
Hates Damien about as much as Damien hates him. They dated during the bronze age, competing to establish empires while trying to pursue a relationship (DISASTROUS combo). Cromwell was the first to strike Damien, starting a very long period of fights, both physical and verbal, many of which either were preceded by or directly led to sex. Like a LOT. He would praise Damien for going above and beyond his expectations during manic episodes, and chastise him for falling behind and getting sluggish during the following depressive ones, often even seeking him out just to berate him. On top of being the one to initiate the abuse and being responsible for a good number of the issues with their relationship, Cromwell was the one to end it by walking out without so much as a note, done in a rare moment of clarity and with the intent of sparing Damien from himself. This had the unintended effect of looking just as uncaring, if not even moreso, than the ENTIRE rest of the relationship, and is what spawned the initial hatred. At one point he loved Damien, and he may come to love him again, but from where we stand that point is FAR in the past.
His first thought with Cain, upon realization of their shared view of the law, was that if he could do business with him, he could befriend him. Their relationship, despite being much friendlier than Cromwell would normally allow, is still highly business-oriented, as Cain is the only person he trusts to keep things running when he's not there to. The moment he realizes how Cain sees him, he starts trying to distance himself and orient Cain away from the business mindset.
(ask jade about kara to get something going)
He and June have mutual respect for each other. He's aware of her very observant nature and attempts to study him, so he changes his habits whenever he catches her watching him in the library.
